Best competition sites in the UK

Updated 17 October 2026 · 14 min read · By Hoardsy

Published by Hoardsy, a competition operator. We have a commercial interest here, so Hoardsy is not ranked on this page. Every operator below receives the same checks and weights.

Choose by the prize you want, the chance you can understand and the terms you accept. This comparison ranks 11 UK-facing operators. It puts published chances, closing dates, minimum sales, free entry, draw methods, price and dated public review records into one scored method.

Last checked: . All linked facts were checked on this date unless an earlier date is printed beside the source. We keep missing information visible: a zero for an unverified fact means we could not award evidence points, not that the operator necessarily fails that test. These are adult-only comparisons; read each operator's location and eligibility rules.

Best competition sites by what you want

  • Best overall on this method: 7days Performance. Highest total across the seven evidence checks; the source notes explain its limits.
  • Best for cars: 7days Performance. Highest-scoring car operator here; check the exact vehicle and its cash option.
  • Best for houses: Dream Car Giveaways. Highest-scoring property operator here; each draw’s rules control the actual house prize.
  • Best for cheap tickets: 7days Performance. Strongest verified price score, then overall score. Cheap entries still need clear chances.
  • Best for instant wins: 7days Performance. Highest overall score among the instant operators ranked here.

Our scoring method: seven checks, 100 possible points

Each criterion receives full, half or zero points under the thresholds below; adding them gives the total. Every operator follows these rules. Component scores link to the supporting source. Unverified information earns zero evidence points without implying misconduct.

The weights used in the ranking above
CriterionPointsEvidence required
Published probability evidence20Full points for a numerical chance for a defined sampled outcome; half for a ticket cap and random selection; zero where neither is verified. Any-prize chances include small prizes and credit. This measures disclosure, not which site offers the greatest winning chance.
Closing-date commitment15Full points for an explicit promise against extensions to sell more entries; half for a specified period with limited change provisions or countdown; zero where a commitment is unverified.
Prize independent of sales15Full points only for an express commitment to award the prize or complete the draw regardless of sales. Zero for a shortfall clause or an unverified promise; the evidence distinguishes those cases.
Documented postal entry10Full points for a published postal route and explicit equal-chance treatment; half for a verified route without equal-chance wording established; zero for an unverified route. Postal processing and visual prominence have not been audited.
Checkable selection method15Full points for a locked entry record, subsequent independently public randomness and a reproducible check; half for a named random method or independent judging; zero if unverified. Half points do not imply unfair selection.
Low-price ticket example10Full points for an available paid-ticket example costing 10p or less; half up to £1; zero above £1 or unverified. These are dated examples, not complete price-range audits or value-for-money scores.
Dated public review record15Full points for a public review profile claimed at least five years ago; half for a verified shorter record; zero if unverified or prelaunch. Stars do not affect points. Profile age is not audited trading history or proof of prize payments.

The score measures published evidence. It cannot certify safety, payout rates or winning chances. Company incorporation does not establish years operating competitions. Review-profile age is a limited history signal, not audited trading history or paid-winner evidence; the deeper reviews record dated customer ratings and counts.

Ties use public-review-record points, then alphabetical operator name. Category picks apply the stated rules to the operators covered here; this is not an exhaustive UK directory. For another emphasis, read the evidence and legitimacy comparison or sites like BOTB.

The ASA search is incomplete: missing ruling paragraphs do not mean no ruling exists. Registration, voluntary-code membership and customer ratings do not prove individual results.

Where Hoardsy stands on the same checks

We run Hoardsy, so it isn’t ranked or scored above. Here’s how it does on every check, with the source for each.

  • Published probability evidence: Competition pages publish ticket caps and the chance per ticket for each listed prize. A chance of any prize includes prizes below the entry cost and site credit. source (17 October 2026)
  • Closing-date commitment: Published rules exclude extensions for slow sales; the stated closing date stands. source (17 October 2026)
  • Prize independent of sales: The published prize stands regardless of sales; there is no minimum-sales threshold. source (17 October 2026)
  • Documented postal entry: Free postal entry on every competition, with the same chance as a paid ticket. Postage costs money. source (17 October 2026)
  • Checkable selection method: The entry record locks before a later public drand value selects the end-draw winner. Published evidence lets a reader repeat the check. source (17 October 2026)
  • Low-price ticket example: Paid entry is closed. Each competition lists its own ticket price. source (17 October 2026)
  • Dated public review record: New and prelaunch: no verified Trustpilot history or paid-winner total is claimed. source (17 October 2026)

Alternatives to the big names

Leaving a site you know? Each guide puts one operator beside its closest alternatives on the same eight questions, with what its site showed on 26 October 2026.

Compare the chance, the prize and the total cost

For a simple draw with one equally likely winning ticket, the final eligible-entry count determines a ticket's chance. One winning ticket among 1,000 entries gives one entry a one-in-1,000 chance. This is an illustration, not a measurement of a site above. A current sales count may rise before closing; a ticket cap is not always the final participating total. Skill-based judging and separate instant allocations require their own explanation.

Compare the outcome you actually want. Winning a small prize, receiving more than your total entry cost and winning the headline prize are different events. Ten cheap entries cost ten times the headline ticket price. For a car or house, confirm any cash option and practical ownership costs. Use the payback calculator to compare total prize value with possible entry revenue, and read the assumptions in our dated prize-value study.

Choose a narrower comparison for car competition sites, cash competition sites or cheap competition sites. Find current offers in the cash listings, low-price listings and prize-draw listings.

For quicker results, compare instant-win competition sites and read instant wins versus end draws. Our instant win games guide explains Plinko with real prizes and the other games. Their animations reveal recorded outcomes. Every Hoardsy competition has free postal entry under its rules. 18+, Great Britain only.

Ten checks before choosing a competition site

  1. Free entry. Find the address, required details and arrival deadline for the exact competition. Check separate-postage rules and early sellouts. Read the ASA guidance on free entry.
  2. Closing date. Save the date and the exceptional-change clause together. Slow sales and unavoidable disruption are different circumstances; the closing-date guide explains why that matters.
  3. Minimum sales. Establish what prize remains if a target is missed. An unconditional prize and a sales-based substitute are different offers. Read how minimum-sales clauses work.
  4. Cash alternative. Record the sum, who chooses it and any deductions. Distinguish a percentage of retail value from a percentage of entry revenue. See cash alternatives explained.
  5. Prize list. Separate cash, items, site credit and further entries. Check how many of each prize exist, their claim conditions and whether some advertised wins are smaller than the ticket price.
  6. Your chance. Find the ticket cap and what the stated probability measures. Winning anything and winning the largest prize are different events. Compare the same total spend using the best-odds guide.
  7. Winner selection. Read the rule before entering and the result record afterwards. Check what happens to unsold numbers. The provably fair draw guide explains repeatable calculations and their limits.
  8. Operator identity. Match the legal name, registration number, address and jurisdiction. Registration identifies a business; it does not approve every promotion. Rev Comps names a Gibraltar promoter, as its linked terms explain.
  9. Results and complaints. Look for dated results and a usable complaint process. Review-profile age and customer ratings do not prove prize payment. Read named ASA rulings in their historical context.
  10. Delivery and budget. Check claim deadlines, delivery costs and payment procedures. Set your total spend before choosing entries. The risky-site guide connects warning signs with source evidence.

Questions about UK competition sites

What is the most legit competition site in the UK?

No ranking proves legitimacy. Look for an identifiable company, clear entry and free-entry rules, dated results and a complaint route. Registration, customer ratings and this table’s scores are evidence to assess; none guarantees prize payment.

Which competition site has the best odds?

Compare individual competitions, using the same prize outcome and total spend. For one equally likely winner among 1,000 eligible tickets, one ticket has a one-in-1,000 chance. Our odds score measures disclosure, not a universal winning advantage.

Are competition sites worth it?

Decide whether the price is acceptable if you receive nothing. Compare the full cost, the chance of your preferred prize and its available cash value. A small win can be less than you spent; entering is not a reliable income plan.

Do competition sites have to show odds?

Different promotion formats have different rules; do not assume a universal duty to print a numerical chance. Advertising must meet the applicable requirements for significant conditions and prize descriptions. Our numerical-chance criterion is an editorial test, not a legal verdict.

Can I enter a paid competition for free by post?

Check the exact competition’s postal address, deadline, account requirements and separate-postage rules. Ordinary postage can still cost money. Hoardsy publishes equal chances for accepted postal tickets.

Does a live draw prove a competition is fair?

A video alone cannot establish a complete eligible-entry list. Check the list, selection method and recorded result together. A repeatable calculation adds evidence, but proving that the calculation matches is different from proving a prize was paid.
