Most Hoardsy tickets have two chances: an instant result decided seconds after you buy, and a place in the end draw when the competition closes.
Instant wins
The first public drand number published at least a second after you buy decides the result, and it’s saved before the reveal. Plinko, Skyfall and Scratchcard reveal it, but the reveal does not decide it. Replaying or skipping never changes the result. Each competition page lists every instant prize and the chance per ticket of winning it. Small wins count too, including one worth less than the ticket price.
The end draw
An end draw has one fixed prize, such as £400 cash, picked from every ticket after the competition closes. The list of entries is locked first, then a public random number nobody at Hoardsy controls picks the winner, so anyone can check it afterwards. See how a provably fair draw works.
Which is better?
They answer different questions. Instant wins pay out often, in smaller amounts. The end draw is a single large prize with a chance per ticket that depends on how many tickets there are. A competition page shows both so you can compare before you enter.
Read the odds as “per ticket”
“1 in 2 wins” means each ticket has about that chance, not that every second player wins. Counts of prizes left are ceilings, not promises. Hoardsy shows “up to N” and says the chances are per ticket.
How Hoardsy runs its competitions
- Closing dates are never extended for slow sales.
- There’s no minimum number of sales: every end-draw prize and top instant prize is awarded, sold out or not.
- Every competition page shows its prizes and your chance per ticket before you enter.
- Every competition can be entered free by post, with the same chances as a paid ticket. See free postal entry.
