Cash competitions

Updated 12 October 2026 · 2 min read · By Hoardsy

Cash prizes paid in pounds, in instant win competitions and end draws. Every competition below shows its prizes and your chance per ticket before you pay.

Christmas competitions

  • Win £5,000 cash: 25p a ticket, no more than 33,330 tickets, so 1 in 33,330 at worst, drawn after the close on Friday 25 December.
  • Win £1,000 cash: 50p a ticket, no more than 8,000 tickets, so 1 in 8,000 at worst, drawn after the close on Sunday 13 December.

All of them, with the dates they close: Christmas competitions 2026.

What a cash competition is

A cash competition has money as the prize instead of an item, so there is no cash alternative to work out and nothing to post. On Hoardsy cash prizes come two ways: instant wins, where a public random number decides your result seconds after you buy and a game reveals it, and end draws, where one winner is picked from every ticket after the close.

Check the chance, not just the prize

A big cash prize means little without the ticket cap. Divide the cap by the tickets you hold and you have your worst-case chance. Most UK sites leave you to find that yourself: we checked 389 live competitions on eight of the biggest sites in how much UK competition sites pay back. Work out any competition with the payback calculator.

How Hoardsy runs every competition

  • Closing dates are never extended for slow sales.
  • There’s no minimum number of sales: every end-draw prize and top instant prize is awarded, sold out or not.
  • Every competition page shows its prizes and your chance per ticket before you enter.
  • End draws are picked from a locked list of tickets by a public random number, so anyone can check the winner. See how a provably fair draw works.
  • Every competition can be entered free by post, with the same chance as a paid ticket. See free postal entry.

18+ only. England, Scotland and Wales. Set limits any time in Play Responsibly.
