Publisher disclosure: Hoardsy writes this comparison and is not ranked, but it sits beside this site on the same checks. This is a review of published evidence, not a personal account of winning or an independent certification. Every factual observation links to its source and read date. Unknown means not established in this check; it does not mean a condition is missing or that an operator has failed it.
An Elite Competitions review should give the historic ASA decision its proper context while also showing the terms recorded for today’s comparison. A past ruling and a current contractual promise answer different questions.
18+ · Great Britain readers. Check each operator’s geographical eligibility. Wherever paid entry is considered, also read the applicable free postal entry route below. Hoardsy’s route is at free postal entry.
Review focus: Read the historic ruling and current terms separately. Compare the ranked best competition sites and the scoring rules behind them.
Is Elite Competitions legit? Start with the promoter
Company identity. Hydro Solutions Fylde Ltd, company 09612888; incorporated 28 May 2015. Incorporation is not a verified competition launch date. Elite Competitions: company identity · checked 17 October 2026.
Operating history. Trustpilot profile claimed October 2018. This is a dated public review record; years trading and total prizes paid have not been independently verified. Elite Competitions: operating history · checked 17 October 2026.
A registration identifies an entity. It does not prove the outcome of an individual competition or establish that a prize has been delivered. Keep identity, contract terms, customer feedback and result evidence as separate checks. Where a registry was not independently verified, the observation says so.
Do not turn an old ruling into a present-tense allegation
Read the advertiser’s legal name, the date of the promotion and the actual issues assessed in an ASA decision. The company behind a brand matters because a brand name alone may not identify the legal subject. A ruling is evidence about the material the ASA considered; it should not be rewritten as a finding about every subsequent competition.
Current terms deserve a separate reading. When they state a different position from an older promotion, show both with their dates. Neither suppressing a documented ruling nor ignoring revised wording produces a fair comparison. The useful question for a prospective entrant is what the current event promises and what evidence will show that those promises have been followed.

Read the full-prize promise alongside cancellation wording
A statement that prizes will be awarded regardless of entries is valuable evidence for the minimum-sales question. A general cancellation clause addresses a different circumstance. Read the reasons, remedies and notification requirements attached to cancellation rather than assuming one sentence erases the other. If the documents appear inconsistent, seek a written explanation tied to the exact competition.
For a fixed closing time, distinguish the time entries stop from the time the selection is broadcast and the time a winner is contacted. Those moments can differ. The key comparison is whether slow sales can change the entry period or the advertised prize. A recording scheduled later does not, by itself, establish that entries were accepted after their closing time.

Check what reasonably equivalent means for your prize
A description of a cash alternative as reasonably equivalent is not the same as publishing its exact amount. If money is the outcome you want, look for the sum on the individual competition and save it. Ask whether accepting that alternative is your choice, when the choice must be made and whether any deductions apply. Without an amount, a numerical comparison would imply more precision than the source supplies.
Then review the postal route and result record for the same event. Compare like with like: the maximum entries allowed to one person, the valid postal format and the draw’s eligible entry list. A large review count or an appealing broadcast does not answer those contractual details. The sourced entries below identify which points were established and which still need a current event-level check.

Closing date, minimum sales and cash alternative
Closing-date condition. Clause 6.9 excludes extensions. The promoter can bring forward a sold-out draw with notice and retains separate cancellation/refund discretion under 6.11. There will be no extensions to the Promotion Period
Elite Competitions: closing-date condition · checked 17 October 2026.
Minimum-sales condition. Clause 6.9 says prizes are awarded in full regardless of the entries received. Elite Competitions: minimum-sales condition · checked 17 October 2026.
Cash alternative. If offered, the promoter sets a cash option reasonably equivalent to the prize; there is no single published percentage for all items. Elite Competitions: cash alternative · checked 17 October 2026.
Entry price and free postal entry
Price observation. An available 1p instant-ticket example was observed. This is a catalogue snapshot, not every competition’s price. Elite Competitions: price observation · checked 17 October 2026.
Free postal route. Postal entries have the same chance as paid entries, including instant prizes; separate prepaid postcards must arrive before close or sellout. Elite Competitions: free postal route · checked 17 October 2026.
Any observed price is a dated example or range, not a promise that every current competition has that price. For paid entry, compare the total price with the free postal route’s instructions and arrival deadline. Read the event’s eligibility and entry limit before choosing either route.
How winners are selected and prizes delivered
Draw method. End draws normally use a live-streamed ball machine; instant winning numbers are set before opening. The terms also permit alternative random methods. Elite Competitions: draw method · checked 17 October 2026.
Published chances. Terms describe capped entries and fixed ticket/prize pools. This supports calculation for a specified draw, not one universal probability across the catalogue. Elite Competitions: published chances · checked 17 October 2026.
Instant-result format. The rules distinguish instant prizes, spinning reveals and automated draws; the animation does not change the saved result. Elite Competitions: instant-result format · checked 17 October 2026.
Prize fulfilment. A universal payment or delivery deadline was not verified. A winner response deadline is not a payout promise. Elite Competitions: prize fulfilment · checked 17 October 2026.
Trustpilot and ASA: dated observations
Trustpilot observation. 4.5/5 from 18,989 Trustpilot reviews in this dated snapshot. Review scores describe customer feedback, not audited chances or prize payments. Elite Competitions: trustpilot observation · checked 17 October 2026.
ASA record. A 6 May 2020 ASA ruling upheld issues with an earlier promotion’s extension, reduced prize and free-entry explanation. Current terms must be assessed separately. Elite Competitions: asa record · checked 17 October 2026.
A public review score reflects the reviews behind it at the observation time. It does not measure the chance of winning or independently verify a draw. An ASA decision concerns specified advertising and dates. An unverified ASA search is not evidence that no ruling exists, and a historic decision does not establish today’s terms.
