Amazing Giveaways ASA ruling

Updated 12 October 2026 · 2 min read · By Hoardsy

On 13 August 2025 the Advertising Standards Authority upheld a complaint against Amazing Giveaways Ltd over a “Holiday Voucher Competition”: a £3,000 TUI holiday voucher offered for a £5 entry. This page sets out what it ruled, with a link to the ruling.

What happened

A complainant believed they had won the draw but never received the prize. The advertiser told the ASA it could not award the prize because “the number of ticket sales for the promotion would not cover the cost of the prize”.

What the ASA found

  • “Promoters must award the prize as described in their marketing communications.”
  • Promoters “were still responsible for the efficient administration of the promotion”, even where unforeseen circumstances led the advertiser to stop advertising.
  • The ASA received no evidence the prize had been awarded or that the promotion had been run properly, so it concluded it had not been administered fairly.

The advertiser was told to award the prize as advertised. Source: ASA ruling on Amazing Giveaways Ltd, 13 August 2025.

The lesson

Ask what happens if sales fall short. Hoardsy has no minimum number of sales, so every prize is awarded whatever sells.

How Hoardsy runs its competitions

  • Closing dates are never extended for slow sales.
  • There’s no minimum number of sales: every end-draw prize and top instant prize is awarded, sold out or not.
  • Every competition page shows its prizes and your chance per ticket before you enter.
  • Every competition can be entered free by post, with the same chances as a paid ticket. See free postal entry.
